Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 26, 2026.
ClearCalc ("we", "us") operates the website getclearcalc.com, which offers free online financial calculators. This policy explains what data is and is not collected when you use the site, who processes it, and the rights you have. We follow the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).
The short version
- The calculators run entirely in your browser. The numbers you type are never sent to us or stored.
- We have no accounts, logins, or contact forms, so we do not knowingly collect names, emails, or other identifying details.
- We use cookieless analytics that set no cookies and do not identify you.
- Advertising (Google AdSense) may use cookies; in the EEA, UK and Switzerland those are only used after you consent via the banner.
What we collect
Information you enter
Calculator inputs (loan amounts, rates, etc.) are processed locally in your browser to display a result. They are not transmitted to our servers, not logged, and not stored.
Usage analytics (cookieless)
We use Microsoft Azure Application Insights to understand how the site is used. Our analytics is configured to be cookieless: it sets no cookies, creates no persistent user identifier, and collects only aggregate technical data such as the page viewed, the referring page, approximate region, browser type, and timestamp. Your IP address is processed transiently by Microsoft to derive an approximate location and is not stored by us. Microsoft acts as our data processor; see the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Advertising
We use Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, ad and analytics storage is set to denied by default and is only enabled if you choose "Accept" in our cookie banner (we use Google Consent Mode to honor your choice). You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and manage ad personalization at My Ad Center. Third-party vendors, including Google, may show ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites; you may opt out of personalized advertising at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu.
Hosting and security
The site is hosted on Microsoft Azure Static Web Apps and delivered through Cloudflare. These providers may process your IP address and request metadata as needed to deliver the site securely and prevent abuse, as their own data processors.
Cookies
We do not set first-party tracking cookies. The only cookies that may be set are advertising cookies from Google, and only after consent where consent is required. You can manage or withdraw consent at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the page footer, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Affiliate links
Some pages may contain affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Such links are disclosed where they appear. Affiliate partners may set their own cookies governed by their privacy policies.
Legal bases (GDPR / UK GDPR)
- Consent — for advertising cookies and any personalized advertising (Art. 6(1)(a)).
- Legitimate interests — for cookieless, aggregate analytics and for keeping the site secure and operational (Art. 6(1)(f)).
Data retention
We do not maintain a database of users. Aggregate analytics are retained by our analytics provider for a limited period and then deleted or aggregated beyond identification. Advertising data retention is governed by Google's policies.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. California residents may request disclosure or deletion and may opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information; we do not sell personal information. Because we hold no account or directly identifying data, there is generally little for us to retrieve or erase, but you may still exercise these rights, and you may control advertising data through the Google links above. To make a request, contact us at privacy@getclearcalc.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
International transfers
Our processors (Microsoft, Google, Cloudflare) may process data in countries outside your own, including the United States, under appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or applicable adequacy frameworks.
Children
The site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
